FAQs about having a Wedding at our Nashville Venue

Our experienced onsite Director of Events, Linda Pilkinton, addresses all of the frequently asked wedding venue questions she has received over the years from brides, grooms, and their families.

Q

When can we come tour the venue?

A

Belle Meade Plantation is open 7 days a week from 9:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. CST. Information is always available at the visitor center for folks to pick up and look around on their own. You may also schedule a venue visit with our Director of Events.

 

Q

I’m an out of town bride and I require a Saturday wedding for my out of town guests. Your Saturdays are booked already. What can I do?

A

Keep in mind that with out of town guests will likely make your wedding into their mini-vacation to Nashville. They may be in Nashville a few days already and a Friday or Saturday wedding might actually be perfect.

*BONUS ~ Fridays and Sundays are a lot less expensive, too!

Will a Friday or Sunday wedding day negatively affect my guest count?

A

Not really. As stated previously, if your guests are planning on a Nashville vacation… ahem… I mean coming to your wedding, they will be there if it’s Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Usually only weekday weddings feel the effect of a guest count decrease.

 

Q

If I choose to have a wedding ceremony at Belle Meade Plantation, do you have a backup rain plan? If so,when will I have to decide on that option?

A

We have a backup rain plan tent on site with a floor so you don’t have to worry about a mushy wedding.  You can decide the day of your wedding what option is best for you.  It is about a $10,000 rental normally, but it’s included for our brides!

What months have the best weather for getting married outdoors? 

A

While we never know exactly what the weather forecast might be, we book outdoor weddings April-October each year because these months typically have weather that is conducive to outdoor events.

Do you have indoor wedding options?

A

Yes we do have indoor options available. Please inquire for more information.

Do you have any required vendors?

A

We do have required vendors for lighting, valet parking & heaters.  You get to choose all other vendors!

What’s included in the wedding/ reception rental price?

A

Will I be able to have a wedding rehearsal the day before?

A

Great question! We could go ahead and confirm a one hour rehearsal the day before your wedding day (choose an hour between 9:00a.m.-1:00p.m.). Or if you want to wait until about one month out from the wedding at final payment time, we could see about solidifying a rehearsal as late at 4:00-5:00p.m. (if no other event has booked on that date). We can’t promise that late of a time at first because other events may book on that date and we don’t want our clients feeling “on top of each other” and crowded.

What is the average cost of an entire wedding?

A

That’s a big question! Of course the expense truly depends on your guest count and choices, but a good rule of thumb for about 150-200 guests is $25,000-$35,000 on average. Another way to look at it is the expense runs around $100 per person + the cost of your venue. Obviously you can spend more if your wedding budget permits.

Tell me how the timing for the day of my wedding ceremony and/or reception will go.

A

* All times are Central Standard Time (CST)

  1. Set up of all equipment we include is complete by the time you arrive.
  2. You and all of your wedding vendors/ family arrive at 3:00 p.m.
  3. Set up of the wedding or reception by your selected vendors will take place from 3:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m. or so. This is also a great time for photographs.
  4. Your wedding or reception begins any time after 5:30 p.m.
  5. Party until 11:00p.m.
  6. The breakdown of your event will occur after 11:00 p.m.

What could my guests do during cocktail hour?

A

We have a brand new cocktail gaming area that includes bocce ball, corn hole, croquette, horse shoes and a built in bar.  It is connected to our Stable Hall carriage exhibit as well for folks to learn a little history if that is more up their alley. Your guests will delight in some fun as you finish up your photos!  This is included in our packages.

Is there an option to add on more time?

A

There is an option to add on an 8:00a.m. load in time for your event if you would like.  Extra charges apply.

 

Q

Is there an option to have a tented reception?

A

There is an option to add on a tented reception to our Carriage House package.  It requires and 8:00a.m. load in time so that your vendors have plenty of time to set up this additional space for you.  Extra charges apply.
